Hard Facts of the Dispute

We’ve laid out some important facts for you to digest about the current situation. These facts will keep you informed, sharp, and in tune with this dispute. All the information that you can gather can help make a difference in moving forward and is highly critical at this time.

  • This negotiation only affects the deal with Mount Sinai’s hospitals for both employer-sponsored and individual commercial plans, which includes the Oxford Health Plan.
  • If you’re enrolled in UnitedHealthcare fully insured commercial plans, you can still access all of Mount Sinai’s hospitals until Feb. 29, 2024, thanks to New York’s cooling-off requirements.
  • For those enrolled in non-Oxford ASO (self-insured) commercial plans, network access is limited to Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens until Feb. 29, 2024.
  • Unfortunately, if you’re on level-funded plans, there’s no cooling-off period, and all Mt Sinai facilities are out of network starting from 1/1/24.
  • Mount Sinai’s physicians will remain in our network for employer-sponsored and individual commercial plans, including Oxford. No impact on them for now.
  • Remember, this negotiation only affects the connection with Mount Sinai for employer-sponsored and individual commercial plans, including Oxford. All other active contracts, such as Medicare Advantage and the Empire Plan, stay as they are with no changes.
